Abby is a senior lawyer specialising in intellectual property matters. She has over 12 years’ experience at the highly regarded IP firms, Bird & Bird and Osborne Clarke. Having obtained a first class honours degree in biochemistry she initially focused on advising clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, but she has significant experience across a number of industries, including digital media, communications and electronics.

Abby’s expertise covers a wide range of IP rights, including copyright, trade marks, database rights and patents. Her science background enables her to grasp new technologies quickly and understand the application of the relevant IP rights to that technology.

She is an experienced IP litigator. She has a solutions-focused approach while understanding the need to resolve disputes in a pragmatic and cost effective manner that aligns with her clients’ business requirements. Her training at top-ranked IP law firms has ensured that she has the right combination of a detailed knowledge of IP law and procedure as well as the tactical knowhow necessary to fight tough and complex cases.

Abby is also able to provide valuable strategic advice in connection with the protection and exploitation of clients’ IP assets. She has particular expertise in brand management issues, which has included acting in proceedings at the UK and EU IPO.
